Oh come on! We know it shouldn't be a shock that there are drama queens on Facebook, but these infuriating users are are becoming a scourge, making the world's most self-absorbed medium even less tolerable with every intentionally cryptic, overwrought status update. Everyone has at least ten friends like this who constantly court concern with updates about how "you" broke my heart and now "life just isn't worth living," and they know they can get a dozen comments from their gullible, similarly theatrical friends by typing nothing more than a simple "Ugh!" The crybabies included here are just a small sampling of a growing Facebook population that must be stopped! (Sorry if we got a little over-dramatic at the end there.)

This comical compilation of Facebook drama queens and attention whores has inspired me to do something I have been putting off for far too long. Delete 77 people from my friends list who spam Facebook with uninteresting tripe which for some long forgotten reasons I became Facebook friends with even though I had only met them once. I even thought it was pretty funny that the comment section on this page was almost as full of drama and internet smack talking as Facebook.

I know a guy who lives in my apartment building ...well he's always looking for attention, so he gets on FB one night and says something like "Good-bye everyone - i'm sick of this life - it was nice knowing you" .. he's always on there talking about his finances - or lack thereof - and his love life - which is lacking because he's the biggest liar in the world and women see through him ... but his gullible friends all start commenting ... Jim are you OK??? .. Jim don't do anything stupid!!! ... JIM? JIM????? ... so finally people start asking each other if anyone knows where he lives - in what area of our province of New Brunswick - and someone calls 911 here and the Fredericton City Police end up showing up here at his door ... and there he is sitting at the computer READING all of these concerned posts that people are writing about him!!!! It was hilarious - but at the same time he was playing a stupid game that could have endangered people .. what would he feel like if there something terrible happened that had needed those police officers' attention but they couldn't respond because they were tracking down a 50 year-old male drama queen??? HE probably wouldn't feel guilty at all - but i don't think a judge would take too kindly to it ... he was threatened with a mischief charge but he lies so much that we don't know if they just threatened him with it or actually charged him ...

It's FB. People can post what they want on their own walls. Depressing or not, millions of ppl sharing a social network means putting up w/ the cry babies. Don't like it, leave. It's that easy. You can't seriously pile a friends list w/ over 100 ppl and expect them to all be positive 100% of the time. Humans have issues and FB has become the melting pot for their drama. Its why I hardly ever use it anymore. Besides, what's worse, the drama queens or the people feeding into it?
