Plan your weekend with this map of the drunkest states in the U.S.
MAPS

Based on a new report from the CDC, this map ranks each state based on its percentage of "binge drinkers," which those lab-coat wearing weenies define as "five or more drinks in a short period of time for men, and four for women." See how your state stacks up in alcohol consumption, unless you're from Wisconsin, in which case you are far too drunk to read.

Speaking as someone from the east coast, what is a "South Dakota?"

No one even mentions that South Dakota isn't ranked? Does anyone even live in South Dakota?

"Now see how pathetically the U.S. ranks in the world"

Why is it 'pathetic' if we don't drink as much as the rest of the world? With crime, violence, and abuse at all time highs, I don't think we need to compete with drinking. The DUI's and drunk driving deaths are bad enough as it is! What's "pathetic" is the people who abuse alcohol and expect others to clean up their messes.

Yeah, Tennessee. In Nashville alone we now have 3 distilleries, 5 micro breweries, 3 more breweries on the way, a law on the books that allows passengers to have open containers while driving, and the ubiquitous Jack Daniels, and many many more. Understand that there are entire counties here that do not allow alcohol sales of any form, but those folks just drive over the county lines and buy their Cutty Sark by the GALLON. Those counties ought now skew the demographics.

West Virginia surprises me - I thought they'd be pretty drunk on home brew, but they are equal to big, empty, Mormon Utah. Go figure.

Kelsey, you forgot about George Dickel, Yazoo Brewery, Short Mountain Distillary, among others!

We thoroughly enjoy our booze here in Tennessee!

Don't you get it? TN is blacked out.

On another note, MA kicks the Northeast's ass. Probably just attributable to the high concentration of colleges in Boston though. And the Irish.
