It's so awkward between parents and kids online that my friends wrote a book about it, The Smart Parents Guide to Facebook. You should check it out: http://www.facebookparenting.com. I'm surprised you don't have the infamous Facebook Parenting youtube video on here. Meagan, the second half of the co-writing duo, wrote an informative blog article about parenting in an age of digital disclosure. It's a direct response to the Facebook Parenting video. All humor aside, parents and kids are weirded out by each other; there's so much room to misunderstand each other, an exacerbate problems in home in semi-public. I love my grandma but I haven't yet accepted her friend request. :)

This is why my family raised me to be polite, so that I don't post crude things online. Oh, and I'm not having babies by 'god-knows-who-the-father-could-be' or if I do, I'm not dressing them up like mommy as a stripper. I almost lose faith in humanity every time I see things like this. Lord, help us all. I'm friends with practically all my family on Facebook, and I've never been embarrassed by them online, because I don't give them reason to, and we respect each other. Wow.

I thought that alcoholism thing was pretty good parenting. I mean, it might have been better if she hadn't spread his grandfathers mistakes all over the internet, but in the grand scheme of things, she cares, doesn't sound like a complete psycho, and wants her kid to learn moderation. She's way ahead of the curve.
