Renowned master of email aggravation David Thorne recently tormented a seemingly random coworker by digitally grafting Justin Bieber's obnoxious grin onto every single image in his stock photo library. Below is the brilliantly infuriating conversation that preceded this formal complaint, followed by several of the images Thorne Bieber-ized.

This guy has some EXTREMELY weird personal photos on his computer, even without Biebers face on them
-
noobsauce | 11/28/2011 flag |
isn't it wrong to have personal photos on work computers?
-
tmmy | 09/28/2011 flag |
Fair-do's, every forum has "that guy" infact most have "them guys" I suppose you were only doing your job :p
-
gevierre | 09/28/2011 flag |
...and now I completely lost all comprehension of the 'going on's' of this forum when that link magically appeared in my sentence. Odd.

@tmmy, and @ Will Croxford
I was being a troll. Please disregard. Haha. I do not really care, just wanted to be "that guy" who disagreed with the disagreement. In fact, I actually agree wholly with Will; and understanhttp://www.happyplace.com/3701/guy-photoshops-justin-bieber-face-into-coworkers-entire-stock-photo-library#d his argument just fine. I had to take a moment from being intelligent, and stepped down to be a true American. It was all in good fun. -
tmmy | 09/25/2011 flag |
I always find it funny when somebody gets on their high horse and corrects someone’s spelling to then find out they got it wrong. Also his comment was not a trolling comment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_%28Internet%29) simply doubting the authenticity of the disciplinary note. Maybe you should chill out and not take offence at anyone who doesn’t share your views on something.

@Gevierre - Good evening to you too, I'm from England, maybe that's part of the spelling problem - http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/baloney I just know the phrase baloney from American films and associate it with hot-tempered New York cab drivers, I admit I've never seen a baloney in the flesh, whatever the correct way to spell it is. You did mean I spelt the word "baloney" wrong I think? As I explained earlier, I saw some things on this website which thought were very funny indeed and I liked them, especially the unintentionally funny church signs. I understand how this is supposed to be funny, but I don't think it is, and did my best to explain why, I don't see what is so bad about me writing a negative comment, if I can construct an argument and not just slag off the author. The church signs are just put here, and then the viewer is credited with the intelligence to find their own humour in them (or be very offended as some people might). This is an elaborately spoonfed kind of made-up humour which I think softens people's brains, but hey that's just my opinion. If I say for example "wow this is so funny huhuh" (positive) or "Gee, this kind of joke really sucks" (negative) then this isn't really saying anything. If you feel I'm stuck up and need a good ass-kicking, then welcome to say so, we can start a humdinger of an argument, and maybe that could end up more funny than the fake emails above, I think several people commenting here seem to believe this is a real conversation, and I stand by my original comment that it's an indication of weak comic material. Do goblins live under bridges by the way? I'm not totally sure what the definition of troll is either with regards to Internet chat boards (though I have seen the term), maybe you can educate me? This is first time I saw someone really object to my comment on a site before, it's quite exilharating, thrill of the chase.

be** (at least I had the courtesy to correct my error)
-
Gevierre | 09/25/2011 flag |
@Will Croxford...
Your horrid spelling is "baloney." Hunter S. Thomson was a genius, true, but I'm sure he also knew how to spell an every-day processed meat. I'm also sure that everyone here knows this is meant to be comedic, and is to enjoyed as such. Someone took the time to put this together for YOUR entertainment, and you can't even spell your insults correctly. If you didn't like it, you didn't have to read it...least of all, you didn't have to comment. Get out from under that bridge, you're a Goblin; you don't even Troll right. Loser. -

Love this. Simon is Dwight from the Office. David is Jim, imo. This is funny sh*t.

Am I the only person who looked at the 9th picture and went, "Mameshiba~"? :D

These are brilliant! (Although I wonder if "Simon Dempsey" really exists....)
-
Will Croxford | 09/14/2011 flag |
I think the graphic designer did it himself after planning with the comedian, then they made up this conversation to be exceptionally "humorous" (as opposed to something which is actually funny). If they had published this as a deliberate sarcastic article something like "Proof that Bieber is the Second Coming" then a list of the images, then I would have found it funnier, I think the "hilarious email conversation" is, as the New Yorkers would say, a load of baloney. Hunter S Thompson (you can google him) was much funnier than this because he didnt try to con the audience that the unreal was real, he made a comment on society through his deliberately exaggerated writing style. When you need to con the reader or the audience, this just means you don't believe enough in your own comedic material on its own merits.

*clears throat* why not just use the healing and clone tools to fix the images?

This made my daughter and I laugh so much! Our stomachs hurt, our faces hurt and I laughed so hard I cried - like little baby!
-
rachel | 09/09/2011 flag |
If he is a graphic designer as it says he is, he would have this type of stock photos and lots of them!
-
Jolie | 09/08/2011 flag |
Seriously doubt any of this is real ... but that doesn't make it any less brilliant! Where's my stapler? My red stapler? Hopefully Mr. Dempsey isn't a pyro!
-

that was fantastic ^_^

Will I Am | 09/05/2011 flag |
This is so obviously made up though, who has a gerkhin, a digger and a volcano in their work computer images? Also the guy is supposed to be comedian, but would need to be rather good at photoshop and have a lot of spare time at work to do all these, some of the stuff on this site is made up, but not the church signs those definitely real hilarious.
-
Alex | 09/03/2011 flag |
I had to stop reading these cuz I was gonna pee my pants....LOL

Sign captures are laugh-out-loud-in-an-empty-room funny. Employee pissing contest certain to ring a bell from 4th grade crap we all went through. Sounds like the boys never left 4th grade, and even if phony, still hysterical. Cubical suicide, but hysterical.

@Unindoctrated: Have you ever thought that maybe you just need to get a sense of humour and remove that giant stick out of your rectum?
-
LeeConary | 09/01/2011 flag |
This is fuuunnny! I think it might be more funny to me than some of the detractors here because I am a graphic designer and have used Photoshop and over-the-top stock photos for years. To those who question who would have a pictures of baked beans and dirty oven mitts on their work computers, the answer is: a graphic artist! Chill baby!

I thought I could come up with some good pranks but this guy is super !!;)
-

These ongoing email conversations are getting a bit contrived at this point. The cat ad was funny....the business card was ok— but this one is just dumb. This one trick pony needs to learn a new trick.

I bought David Thorne's book about 2 weeks ago. Then I accompanied my mom to the emergency room later that same night, so I brought the book with me for entertainment. (My mom is fine now, so you don't have to worry.) I was asked to leave the waiting room for laughing hysterically. It's really that funny. (The particular part that made me laugh most was the camping bit. It makes me smile just thinking about it.)

-
chaz | 05/31/2011 flag |
This is fake for one major reason: Using the workplace's network storage for your personal files gets you fired. The guy would have to be a complete moron to report something like this. Even so, I enjoy the humor.

None of the David Thorne stuff is true. He's just an attention-whore troll. Amazing how many people fall for his crap.
-
Fred | 05/22/2011 flag |
this is BS. Who would have random photos of oven mitts and cucumbers and such on their computer?
-
Unindoctrinated | 05/22/2011 flag |
I'm starting to think that the word "Prank" has been redefined to mean something that is funny when done to others but not if done to you.
There is a time and place for jokes/pranks, your workplace is not one of them. Grow the hell up, work is not high-school -
