It's hard to stand out in a crowd, especially when that crowd is composed of thousands of people who showed up because they're all pissed off about the exact same thing. The problem with public protests is that most protest signs are so predictable they make people want to change their political views just to add a little variety to their sign reading. Take a cue from these protesters and compose a sign so delightfully bizarre you can be guaranteed it won't go unnoticed.

To those wondering about the "Down with this sort of thing!" sign, it's from Father Ted and was shot on Mountjoy Square in Dublin, if I'm correct. I used to live around the corner from there and I would recognise it anywhere.
Also funnily enough, the episode in question was about an inane protest that was utterly pointless. Kinda ironic how it ended up on this post. -

@bedofsmarts really who the hell cares??? ahhhh, you guys seriously! they are funny, they are from rallies, some are from the stewart/colbert rally. all i was trying to do with my initial comment was alert the someecards people that many of the photos in their "world's most pointless protest signs" post were in fact created to be pointless, which kind of takes a bit away from the purpose of the post intself. that's it, that's all.
you are correct, the little upset one is from the Wisconsin state protests from a few months ago, i was wrong. but really, my first comment was not very snarky, the second yes, but the first was literally just trying to tell the someecards people. was definitely not expecting people to actually care, especially in multiple fully capitalized words. -

@bedofstars: actually I agree with SmarterThanYou....the "Little upset" one is so obviously in the middle of winter (snow,scarf,hat,gloves)not from the same rally as T-shirts and sunshine. Perhaps it was the smarmy totalitarian attitude of your first post that set him/her off........but, hey, whatev'.....

Also, props to the Father Ted sign guys - nice to see so many commenters recognised its provenance too! Wonder what they're attempting to protest - they look like they're in the UK / Ireland at any rate. -

@SmarterThanYou wow, you really take someecard comments seriously! i know, very important subject matter. anyway, since this is such a delicate issue, let me clarify: many of these signs are from the jon stewart/stephen colbert rally, including but not limited to: the tortillas one, the glee one, the little upset one, and the sandwich one.

@bedofstars: they OBVIOUSLY are NOT all from the same rally when some of them are OBVIOUSLY in the winter, some are OBVIOUSLY in summer, some are very clearly in NYC (look at the background, genius!)and the last one is most definitely at a United for Peace protest(unitedforpeace.org). So,no, you don't know...right?!

The "I am a little upset" sign was super-effective. It's been seen by far more people than the usual angry protest, and it gets the point across solidly that these are solid community members and family people, not slavering angry trolls.
