Most of these signs were designed to help people — to get where they're going, to find a pet, to avoid grievous bodily harm — and yet some writing-utensil-wielding wiseasses felt compelled to come along and totally deface them. We're so glad they did. Does that mean we value a wry sense of humor or even just a lazy reference to an outdated song over the safety of our fellow human beings? We're insulted you would even ask. Of course we do.

Maybe these kids will look back on this and laugh once they're old enough to realize what the hell they were saying. Some of them seem brutally honest, while others just appear to have a tenuous grasp of the English language. Obviously, the latter half are our future politicians.

Some people say Americans' love of suing the crap out of each other is a bad thing, but if it wasn't for that litigious spirit our warning signs and product disclaimers would be far less entertaining. No matter how ridiculous they may seem, remember that at some point in time, someone did something to make each of these signs necessary.

Political protests are always a little more fun when the protesters are a little more fabulous. With the overturning of Proposition 8 in California today, the writing appears to be on the wall for opponents of marriage equality. That's a little bittersweet, since the writing on these pro-gay marriage protest signs is entertaining enough that we're definitely going to miss them when the battle is finally over nationwide.

After spending a good chunk of this year gathering Facebook posts entertaining enough for public consumption and/or ridicule, it felt less like we were putting together a humor website and more like we were preparing our PhD dissertation in sociology. These inadvertently erotic billboards spotted outside various places of worship look like the work of some extremely naive — or severely repressed — church employees. Luckily, those of us who've already double-stamped our tickets to Hell are physically incapable of overlooking a dick joke. Here are some of our favorite cases of "That's what He said." Let us know if you've seen any others.

The hand-posted flyer is perhaps the cheapest way to spread the word about lost dogs, found cats, and creepy looking men offering low-cost guitar lessons. But most of the time, those flyers serve as nothing more than reading material for people waiting to get into a bathroom or on a bus. The flyers collected here acknowledge this reality, and they respond by trying to do nothing more than entertain whatever pair of eyes happen to be aimed in their direction. You now have no excuse for wasting all your time on the Internet when it's perfectly clear you could be wasting paper out in the real world.

Bathroom walls give opinionated urinators everywhere a makeshift, bacteria-covered forum for virulent racism, misogyny, homophobia and, worst of all, philosophy. Of course, we'd never advocate one of these obscene acts of vandalism — unless it's a smart-ass response to a previous act of vandalism.
