The 50 funniest tweets of 2011.
posted 12/13/2011Having sifted through our Twitter feed every weekday to gather our daily Tweet Picks, we've assembled a pretty comprehensive document of the year 2011. According to the people we follow, the biggest historical milestones of 2011 were Kim Kardashian's divorce, Steve Jobs's death, Facebook's redesign and all that crap Netflix tried to pull. We've gathered here the 50 standouts from our Tweet Picks to create a nice, succinctly worded snapshot of the year that was.
The most hilariously effective signs supporting gay marriage.
posted 05/09/2012Political protests are always a little more fun when the protesters are a little more fabulous. Yesterday's vote to put a gay marriage ban in North Carolina's constitution was a depressing setback, only to be followed by today's far more encouraging, long-awaited support for same-sex marriage by President Obama. The writing appears to be on the wall for opponents of marriage equality. That's a little bittersweet, since the writing on these pro-gay marriage protest signs is entertaining enough that we're definitely going to miss them when the battle is finally over nationwide.

posted 03/01/2012Are you someone whose day can be ruined by witnessing clumsy spelling all over the world's largest social network? Then this delightful list will let you live vicariously through the venom of others who aren't afraid to publicly challenge and humiliate sloppy wordsmiths. NOTE: If you see any improper spelling in this paragraph, please respond obnoxiously.

posted 05/16/2012Since the launch of Facebook Timeline, we haven't really bothered to do anything with our new profile layout — mostly because we've been too busy posting angry status updates about Facebook Timeline. Everyone else seems to have gone with one of three themes: "Here's an iStock photo of a beach," "Here's my new pet and/or child," or "Here's me at a time before my new pet and/or child ruined my very existence." But these people have gone above and beyond the call of profile customization to do the impossible: make us not hate Facebook Timelines. As much.

posted 12/29/2011After spending a good chunk of this year gathering Facebook posts entertaining enough for public consumption and/or ridicule, it felt less like we were putting together a humor website and more like we were preparing our PhD dissertation in sociology. These 50 posts were selected out of the hundreds we've shared with you throughout the year. They reflect all of the wit, self-absorption, shamelessness, and astounding unfamiliarity with basic grammar that makes Facebook such a wonderland of human frailty and woefully regrettable over-sharing. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did, and we thank you for being quick-fingered enough to screenshot your friends' more embarrassing status updates before they could click delete. Consider this list a year-end toast to everyone who makes Facebook the wonderful nightmare that it is...
What office complaints look like when you have the world's most brilliantly obnoxious coworker.
posted 08/23/2011Australian humorist and professional annoying person David Thorne must have really put in some overtime to rack up this astonishing number of workplace complaints from Simon Dempsey, his favorite target for inflicting questionably deserved misery. Judging by the sheer number of forms and seeming lack of any disciplinary action whatsoever, the HR department must either be surprisingly tolerant of Thorne's hilariously awful behavior, or just terrified they'll be next.

posted 01/16/2012Some people say Americans' love of suing the crap out of each other is a bad thing, but if it wasn't for that litigious spirit our warning signs and product disclaimers would be far less entertaining. No matter how ridiculous they may seem, remember that at some point in time, someone did something to make each of these signs necessary.

posted 04/17/2012Witnessing these nasty breakups in person would be incredibly uncomfortable. But when you can watch from a safe, projectile-free distance on Facebook, it's like seeing a building implode. A building with two very annoying people inside. On the other hand, maybe all of these couples could've stayed together longer if they communicated by any means other than social media.

posted 05/15/201210. All Bikini Pics Will Go Behind A Paywall. Facebook has grown into the monster it is today thanks to the culture of freely sharing every far-too-private thought, photo, and revelation of every element of your life. Now that the company is going public, they'll need to find ways to monetize the site to maximize profits for shareholders. A great way to do that is to move some stuff behind a paywall, starting with every single bikini photo from every vacation album on the website. It's expected that access to these photos by friend-zoned friends, secret stalkers, and every heterosexual male with eyes will generate somewhere around $12 billion a year in new revenue.
More of the world's most brilliantly pointless street flyers.
posted 04/29/2012The hand-posted flyer is perhaps the cheapest way to spread the word about lost dogs, found cats, and creepy looking men offering low-cost guitar lessons. But most of the time, those flyers serve as nothing more than reading material for people waiting to get into a bathroom or on a bus. The flyers collected here acknowledge this reality, and they respond by trying to do nothing more than entertain whatever pair of eyes happen to be aimed in their direction. You now have no excuse for wasting all your time on the Internet when it's perfectly clear you could be wasting paper out in the real world.
